Are you in the habit of always expecting the best? Or do you generally expect the worse?
Our habits might not be all or nothing, though we usually lean one way or the other. Maybe it isn’t one hundred percent one way but because its a habit, its likely to be ninety/ten. Habits have a way of being like that.
So which is it for you, are you mostly expecting the best, or the worst?
Are you in the habit of feeling good about who you are, or in the habit of putting yourself down, being critical and finding fault with what you do? Do you ever stop to acknowledging yourself? Maybe once in a while? Maybe never.
What about acknowledging and praising others, do you, or are you more likely to criticize and find fault? I’m not talking about when you speak to them, but when you think about them…do you find good qualities to think about or are you a fault finder? I know, I know there are times when it’s a challenge….’nuff said.
We know we have these thought patterns that are on a repeat loop. We have habits on how we think of success or failure or how we deal with criticism or a feeling of rejection. And we’re pretty quick to forget all the success we’ve had in our personal growth, in our career, or our life in general.
Take a quick look at your accomplishments. Can you remember who you were last year, or five years ago? Anything changed since then? I bet it has. How quickly we forget.
We move ourselves into a higher state of mind, of consciousness, and experience different and hopefully better things in our life and then…we move on, with very little recognition or acknowledgement of the success we’ve accomplished. Sometimes, with no acknowledgement at all. Ouch.
Not a good plan, yet we’ve all done it…achieved something, forget we did it and shifted our focus onto the next thing to achieve. Just you wait Henry Higgins, just you wait…this can only cause trouble.
The challenge is, that we ignore our successes at our peril. In fact the energy of success can be diminished by being ignored. So it’s probably time to sit up and take notice that as we dismiss or ignore all the incredible successes we’ve had in life we’re losing an enormous amount of this vibration.
It’s a bit like sailing around in a leaky vessel. We could be sinking our ship long before it has a chance to come in.
To experience success, we need to occupy a vibration of success, to live in the energy of it, which means our thought habits need to be focused on success for us and others.
Think about how truly successful you’ve been, and are, in many areas of your life, things that allow you to feel good about who you are and if you’re looking for a tip to help you do that…I have one. Naturally.
Make a list of ten to twenty things that you feel good about, successful about. Take some time to think about what you like about yourself. We all have things we like or don’t like.
Hmm, let’s see.
Who has suddenly developed a passion for kettle corn even though she claims to have given up sugar? It’s all natural if that helps? Nah. And who doesn’t like that about me? And yes there are worse things I might not like about me, but that’s all I’m willing to confess right now.
Back to the list of what we like about ourselves…a much better focus.
Your list can be as simple or as complicated as you wish, from I won a gold medal, my nod to the Olympics, to I’m a good parent. It can include your qualities or be as relatively insignificant as I do the dishes every day. Hey, I did say you could keep it simple. Just so long as they’re things that make you feel good about yourself, this is the vibration of success we’re looking for.
The plan is to vibrate with the energy of success each and every day, by reading your list and recognizing your successes, and feeling good about who you are. This is a way to reach a deep realization that you truly are so much more successful in many areas of your life than you’ve given yourself credit for.
Be wise and acknowledge with gratitude all you’ve accomplished, all you’ve become, and daily live in the energy of your successes and you’ll be acknowledging your way to more and continued success.
Not bad for a few minutes a day is it?
